Joseph Whittaker served in France with 15th Field Company, Royal Engineers, from 5 November 1914. He was killed in action on 20 July 1916, aged 33, son of Thomas Whittaker; wife of Edith May Whittaker, of Hanover Street, Leeds. He is buried in Cambrin Churchyard Extension.
