Mr Young attributes this piece, and others in the series, to an Apollo Theatre. J. McGowan, a manufacturer of military buttons at 38 King street, Soho, was active at this address from 1802-4; he relocated to Gerrald street, Soho in 1805 and the business was still active in 1844
