Sir John Soane (1753-1837), architect; the medal, subscribed to by members of the architectural profession, shows the so-called ‘Tivoli Corner’ of Soane’s new building for the Bank of England, on the corner of Princes Street and Lothbury, construction of which was completed in 1805.
