Ronald Mutimer was born in Middridge, Co. Durham, and attested for the Royal Garrison Artillery at Whitehall, London on 24 June 1916. He served with the 297th Siege Battery during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 23 July 1917. He is buried in Dickebusch New Military Cemetery Extension, France.
