D.F.M., London Gazette, 11 June, 1943. The following recommendation was extracted from the Public Record Office, London: 'This N.C.O. has taken part in many successful sorties against very heavily defended German towns and against Italian and other objectives. He also took part in daylight attacks on Brest, Danzig, Le Creusot and Milan.'
The lot is sold with details of 37 sorties flown by F/Sgt. Saw between April 1941 and November 1942.
