James Martin was born in Chatham, Ontaria, Canada in December 1876. He served during the Great War with the 70th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, and died of illness at Moore Barracks Hospital, Shorncliffe, England, 13 July 1916. Private Martin is buried in Shorncliffe Military Cemetery, Kent.
