The lot is sold with the original certificate for the R.V.M.; two original photographs; identity disc; locket with photograph of his wife; silver wound badge, and a letter from the American Women's War Relief Fund Hospital, Oldway House, Paignton, Devon, written to his wife by one of the nurses concerning his wounds: 'A shell burst some little way from him, but unfortunately a bit of it scorched his face and one piece caught the side of his leg.' Loveday was awarded the Royal Victorian- Medal for his services at the funeral of King Edward VII in May, 1910.
