A gold posy ring, early 19th century, the band of D-shaped cross-section, the interior inscribed ‘Hearts united live contented’ in italic cursive script, maker’s mark a rampant lion followed by ‘wih’, ring size U. £200-£300

This ring was found in East Anglia.

This was a popular posy - it can be seen on various other posy rings including examples in the British Museum (ref. AF.1268, AF.1269, AF.1270 and AF.1271), the Griffin Collection (Inv. no. 05088), and Museum of London (ref. 62.4/4 and 62.4/95) and the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
