Junius) Brutus, Denarius, 54 BC, libertas behind head of Libertas right, hair tied into a knot and jewels in hair above her forehead, rev. brvtvs in exergue, above the consul Lucius Junius Brutus walking left between two lictors, preceded by an accensus, 3.38g/5h (Ghey 248.3, this coin; Craw. 433/1; BMCRR 3861; RSC Junia 31). Discrete banker’s mark to obverse field, well centred with a dark patina, about very fine £100-£150
