Early Anglo-Saxon Period, Sceatta, Secondary series K, type 42, draped bust right, hair knotted behind, a bird of prey on shoulder looking skyward, rev. beast bounding right, head reverted, branch with berries behind, 1.14g/3h (SCBI Abramson 441; Abramson 41-35; N 101; S 803A). Extremely fine, excellent surfaces, rare thus [Graded NGC MS 62] £600-£800
Found in Eccles in Kent close to the large Claudian Roman villa.
