The 71st Foot later joined the Yusafzai Field Force in November 1863 and took part in a number of small actions around the Eagle’s Nest and Crag Picket; Henderson was subsequently awarded the India General Service Medal with clasp Umbeyla for service on the North-West Frontier during this period.
