George William Chalmers was born at Landport, Portsmouth, on 1st May, 1877, and enlisted at Gosport on 1st July, 1895. He served aboard H.M.S. Terrible from July 1898 to October 1902, during which time he landed with the Naval Brigade in Cape Colony and Natal, 1899-1900, and landed with the North China Field Force, June to September 1900. Chalmers was ‘Discharged Dead’ on 18 December 1912. Sold with copy service record and copies of relevant medal rolls.
