Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.V.R. (6818 Pte., 1/K.R.R.C.); 1914 Star, with clasp (6818 Pte., 1/K.R. Rif. C.); British War and Victory Medals (6818 A.-Sjt., K.R. Rif. C.); Serbian Cross of Karageorge, 1st Class, the D.C.M. with several edge bruises, otherwise generally good very fine (5) £1200-1500

London Gazette 1 April 1915: ‘For conspicuous gallantry on the 19th September 1914 at the Soupir Ridge, in obtaining valuable information as to the enemy’s position whilst exposed to shell fire. He was again brought to notice on the 27th November for gallant conduct near Zonnebeke, in conveying messages on several occasions under very heavy machine gun and shell fire.’
