Lieutenant Robert James Goodman 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when acting as Adjutant during several days severe fighting. When most of the officers had become casualties, he went forward and took command of a bombing party, and by his determination and gallant leadership gained and consolidated his objective.'
