The Reverend William Edward De Burgh served as a Chaplain to the Troops during the Boer War. He died in the Cape Colony on 4 September 1902 of disease contracted whilst on active service. Sold with confirmation of clasp entitlement; two laser copied photographs; and a quantity of copied research material, including lengthy extracts from his parish magazine detailing letters written by DeBurgh from South Africa
