Frederick James Krabbe was born on 19 July 1860, and educated at Christ’s Hospital, London. He entered the Account Branch of the Royal Navy in 1876, becoming assistant Paymaster 1881; Paymaster 1892; Staff Paymaster 1898; Fleet Paymaster 1900; Paymaster Captain 1913; Paymaster Rear-Admiral 1920. He served as Secretary to the Commander-in-Chief, North America, 1895-97; Admiral Superintendent Naval Reserves, Admiralty, 1898-1902; Secretary to Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean, 1902-05; Deputy Judge Advocate of the Fleet, 1908-25. He served ashore during the Great War and was made a C.B. in 1914. He died on 3 July 1933.
