Anglo-Boer War Medal 1899-1902 (Burger C. J. De Klerk) together with a length of wound ribbon ‘lint voor wonden’, nearly extremely fine £80-100

Burger Christiaan Johannes De Klerk was wounded in the leg at Velstek Kopje, Kimberley, in 1901, and in the torso at Keimoes, Groot River, on 23 March 1902. He served in Komdt. van Aswegan’s Christiana Commando and was present at the action at Roodiam, near Warrenton in Cape Colony, where van Aswegan was killed in March 1900. De Klerk was in the field from February 1900 until 31 May 1902 when he laid down his arms at Britztown in the Transvaal, while serving with Komdt. Conroy. He also served in the actions at Fourteen Streams, Klerksdorp, Ladysmith, Border Siding, Donkerhoek, Spion Kop, and Macfarlane District. Sold with copy applications for medal and wound ribbon.
