31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment, a very fine officer’s copper gilt rectangular shoulder belt plate c1847-1855 described in Parkyn p171, the back plate overlaid with a most ornate silver design incorporating laurel sprays the crown XXXI county title and the battle honours up to Aliwal and Sobraon, the milled finish on the numerals worn down but the gilt and overall condition very fine £450-550
