D.C.M. London Gazette 11 March 1920: ‘Near Wervicq, on the night 4th-5th October 1918, he displayed great coolness and courage during an intense enemy bombardment. He was successful in delivering rations and ammunition complete, although the company was extended over difficult country holding a line of shell holes. He has always displayed great zeal and devotion to duty, and it is mainly owing to him that his company always receives their supplies.’
Also entitled to the clasp to his 1914 Star.
