James IV (1488-1531), Groat, Edinburgh, type IIb, mm. cross fleury, stars on four uppermost cusps, reads edinbrg, crown in first quarter, three pellets and annulet in second and third quarters and a lis in the fourth quarter, 2.88g/8h (cf. SCBI 35, 843; S 5333). Obverse with hairline scratches on bust but about very fine, a little off-centre, reverse very fine, toned, rare (£500-600)
This coin has stars on four uppermost cusps, the rev. reads EDINBRG and has a crown in first quarter, three pellets and annulet in second and third quarters and a lis in the fourth quarter (cf. SCBI 35, 843) and the die-axis is 8h. It also has hairline scratches on the bust
