Sir James Moir Mackenzie, K.B.E. (1951), C.M.G. (1937), was born in Sunderland 17 October, 1886, and educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, and Edinburgh University. As Lieutenant R.N.V.R. he served with the Royal Naval Division and the Harwich Destroyer force. Member of the Queen's Bodyguard for Scotland, The Royal Company of Archers; Member British Industrial Mission to Eastern Canada, 1931; Represented Federation of British Industries at the Ottawa Conference, 1932; Member British Government Purchasing Mission to Canada, 1939; President Scottish Rugby Football Union, 1948-49; Deputy Director- General, Federation of British Industries. Sir Moir Mackenzie died on 22 January 1963.
