A Great War M.C. group of seven awarded to Quartermaster and Captain H. V. Goodman, Liverpool Regiment, formerly Grenadier Guards

Military Cross, G.V.R.; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 6 clasps, Belmont, Modder River, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast (1124 Clr.-Sejt., Gren. -ds.) heavy edge bruising obliterating one letter of unit; King’s South Africa, 2 clasps (1124 Clr. Serjt., Grenadier Guards); 1914-15 Star (Q.M. & Lieut., L’pool. R.); British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D. oak leaf (Q.M. & Capt.); Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (1124 Clr. Sjt., Gren. Gds.); together with corresponding miniatures, the Q.S.A. and K.S.A. with heavy edge bruising and contact wear, and the K.S.A. with slightly buckled suspension, therefore about fine, otherwise nearly very fine or better (14) £600-800

Harry Vincent Goodman wasborn in 1869 and lived at Maida Vale, London. He served 21 years with the Grenadier Guards, before joining the 17th (1st Pals) Battalion, Liverpool Regiment on 7 September 1914, with whom he served as Regimental Sergeant Major, before being gazetted to the rank of Honorary Lieutenant & Quarter Master on 16 December 1915. Sold with 13 copied pages from his correspondence file, confirming service in France from 7 November 1915 to 30 June 1918, and
Archangel, North Russia from 10 October 1918 to 25 July 1919.
