James Strachan attested for the Army Service Corps and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 25 September 1915. Promoted Corporal, he was discharged Class ‘Z’ on 21 April 1919.

Charles Craigen was born at Lossiemouth, Morayshire, in 1892 and having emigrated to Canada attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at Calgary, Alberta. He served with the 43rd Battalion (Canadian Cameron Highlanders), Canadian Infantry during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action by a sniper at Amiens on 9 August 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, France.
