Joseph Lionel Power attested for the Royal Field Artillery ands served in the ranks for in South Africa during the Boer War, taking part in the operations in Natal, including the action at Elandslaagte and the Defence of Ladysmith; and in operations in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, including the action at Belfast. Advanced Battery Quartermaster Sergeant, he saw further service during the Great War on the Western Front from 29 September 1915, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant on 27 December 1915. He died on 1 September 1930.
