British Iron Age, BELGAE, Stater, British Q [Cheriton wheel] type, Hampshire derivative, degraded head of Apollo right, hairband running behind head, terminating in pellet with radiate limbs, flanked by two ‘eyes’, rev. triple-tailed horse right with spoked wheel below, 5.72g (Sills 213; ABC 758; BMC 446; S –). Struck from a worn and re-cut obverse die, otherwise fine, light yellow gold £300-£400
