Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Salamanca (J. Donava[n], Gunner, R.H. Arty.) traces of brooch mounting to obverse, with the edge pierced at 6 o’clock (over the last letter of the recipient’s name), with suspension reaffixed, heavy edge bruising, worn, therefore fair £200-£240
James Donavan (also recorded as Donnovan) is additionally entitled to the clasps Badajoz, Vittoria, and Nivelle (with some sources also giving entitlement to Nive). He also served in ‘I’ Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, during the Waterloo campaign, 16-18 June 1815.
