Waterloo 1815 (Joseph Cooke, 2nd Batt. 3rd Reg. Guards) pierced at 12 o’clock and fitted with small ring for suspension, considerable edge bruising and contact marks, therefore fine £300-400
Confirmed on the roll for Waterloo where the 2/3rd Guards were heavily engaged in the gallant defence of Hougoumont. The medal is accompanied by a letter from H.Q Scots Guards which states that Joseph Cooke died of wounds on 31 May 1817.
