Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Copenhagen 1801 (Alexr. Kirkland) minor edge bruising, very fine £2000-2400

Alexander Kirkland, Royal Navy, served as a Landsman aboard H.M.S. Edgar at the battle of Copenhagen. The Edgar, a 3rd Rate Ship-of-the-Line, formed part of Nelson’s squadron attacking the anchored Danish vessels. Heavily involved in the battle, she suffered 31 men killed and 111 wounded.
