India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Sikkim 1888 (1308 Pte. W. Hickling, 2nd Bn. Derby R.) one or two edge bruises and polished, thus good fine £180-220

Sold with roll verification which confirms William Hickling’s entitlement to the above Medal and clasp for services in Sikkim between 21 August and 27 September 1888; the only Imperial troops employed in these operations, the men of the 2nd Battalion, Derbyshire Regiment were awarded 481 Medals - over 65 of these now reside in the Regimental Museum’s collection.
