Henry Stoddart (note initial ‘J’ on medal) was born in Selkirk. A Mill Worker by occupation, he attested for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers at Berwick on 16 January 1895, aged 18 years, 6 months. He served in South Africa from January 1900 until January 1903 when he was transferred to the Army Reserve. Sold with copied service papers.
