The published Waterloo Roll lists two men with the name ‘James Dougherty’ in the 71st Regiment, one in Captain W.A. Grant’s Company and another in Captain D. Campbell’s. A ‘Corporal James Dougherty, 71st Foot’ is listed in the published Military General Service Medal roll as having been awarded the medal with 9 clasps for Roleia, Vimiera, Corunna, Fuentes d’Onor, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive and Toulouse.
