A note with the first medal states: ‘The only formation entitled to these clasps is IV Corps. Not to have received the clasp “Paris” the recipient must have been invalided or employed to escort French prisoners to Germany’.
A note with the second medal states: ‘The recipient is likely to have served in VIII Corps as a reinforcement after “Gravelotte-St. Privat” & to have left as a casualty after “Amiens”.
