James Salisbury Frederick Bacon was born in Baxterley, Warwickshire in March 1865, the son of the Rev. Hugh Bacon, and a nephew of His Honour Judge Francis Bacon of the Bloomsbury and Whitechapel County Courts. Choosing to pursue his uncle’s profession, he qualified as a Barrister in May 1895, and practised in London thereafter. He died in Uxbridge, Middlesex in December 1931, having been a beneficiary of his late uncle’s disputed Will and £118,000 estate (The Times 22 July 1911 refers).
