John Stynes, 9th Siege Battery, Canadian Garrison Artillery, was killed in action, 13 May 1917, aged 25 years. He was buried in the Lievin Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France. He was the son of Annie Comfort Smith (formerly Stynes), of Hydes Lea, Stafford, England, and Robert G. Smith (Stepfather).
