One Pound, 1 July 1970, C 0000000, colour trial in red, stamped specimen in red on each side and small punch-hole at centre, signature of W.S. Wilson (Pick 187a). ‘BW’ pencilled in bottom margin and ‘Rcvd with Rgs etc 10/13/70’ in top margin on back, otherwise about uncirculated (£300-350)

The traditional black and white series was finally discontinued after amalgamation with the Belfast Banking Company. It was replaced by a colourful new series in 1970 with vignettes featuring shipbuilding, linen manufacturing and agriculture
