Charles I (1625-1649), Chester mint, Halfcrown, 1644, mm. sword erect between three gerbs on obv., plume on rev., horseman from same punch as last, without chst and plume, rev. Declaration in two lines, three plumes above, date below, 14.67g/12h (Lyall C/3; SCBI Brooker 1112, same dies; N 2630; S 3133). A few small striking splits, some scratches and reverse off-centre, otherwise about very fine and toned, very rare (£2,000-2,500)
