Military General Service 1793-1814, 3 clasps, Roleia, Vimiera, Corunna (William Tassy, 71st Foot) light marks to the obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine £1400-1600
William Tassy was born in Glasgow, and served in the Lochaber Fencibles for two years before enlisting into the 71st Foot on 10 July 1800. He was discharged as a Sergeant after 19 years service in consequence of being ‘worn out and affected with headache and giddiness from wounds at Buenos Ayres and Corunna.’ Sold with copy pages from ‘Examination of Invalid Soldiers on Wednesday 25 June 1817’ and other research.
