William Alfred Assinder entered the Great War as a Private in the Army Cyclist Corps. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was killed in action in Italy on 16 June 1918, during the Battle of the Piave, 15-22 June 1918. He was buried in the Magnaboschi British Cemetery.
