A Continental small-sword circa1750, the hilt of russet iron pierced and engraved with intricate floral decoration knucklebow and double shell-guard decorated en-suite, oval pierced pommel again en-suite, grip bound with copper-gilt wire with turk's heads, the earlier 79cm rapier blade of flattened diamond section signed in the central groove ‘Johannes Tesche’, good condition overall £300-350

Johannes Tesche was of a well known family of Solingen swordsmiths and was working circa 1630.
