The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders), a good quality officer’s shoulder belt plate c1901-39, rectangular gilt engine turned back plate with burnished rim, overlaid with a large silver Thistle star, title scrolls and central St. Andrew, a KC over thistle sprays, the Thistle motto and the Sphinx all in gilt, usual hook and stud fasteners; together with the companion rectangular waist belt plate (loose end not present), both retailed by Anderson & Sons, Edinburgh, some staining to the gilt on the second item, otherwise good condition (2) £220-250
