James I (1406-1437), Groat, First Fleur-de-lis issue, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, tressure of eight arcs, lis and two saltires on bust, saltire and i by neck, i on sceptre handle, lis stops both sides, 2.42g/5h (SCBI 35, –; cf. B 22a-c, fig. 460a; S 5195). Striking split at 2 o’clock and surfaces lightly scratched, otherwise fine or better (£80-100)
