Mervyn George Noble was killed in action on 24 March 1918, while serving in the 4th South African Infantry. He was 23 years of age, the son of Lazarus and Ellen Noble of Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia, and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial on the Somme.
