Robert Kerr was granted an immediate award of the M.S.M. ‘in recognition of valuable services rendered in Egypt’ in the 19th (Western) Battalion, Rifle Brigade (London Gazette 3 June 1918 refers), one of just two such awards to the Regiment for this theatre of war. Kerr later transferred to the Labour Corps; sold with copied MIC entry confirming entitlement to only the British War & Victory Medals.
