American Volunteers (?) Officer’s Gorget, a universal copper gilt pattern engraved with the crown over ‘GR’ and narrow attendant laurel sprays, plus simple script letters ‘A’ and ‘V’ to the left and right of the cushion of the crown. The vendor’s notes indicate that this was worn by a Lieut. P. Weaver of the 5th Lincoln Regiment, gilt severely rubbed £120-170
Note. There are also many ‘A’ Volunteer units on the home establishments at this time c1801-1815.
