Served with the Mounted Infantry Camel Regiment on the Nile, one of only two men of G/B R.H.A. to fight at Abu Klea.
Benjamin G. Julian served in Egypt in 1882 as a shoeing smith with G/B R.H.A. but was not present at Tel-El-Kebir. He was present with the Mounted Infantry in 1884 at Suakin and at the battles of El-Teb and Tamaai, and is on the roll of the 1st Mounted Infantry Camel Regiment for the Nile and Abu Klea. He rejoined his battery from the Mounted Infantry in June 1885 and served with “G” Battery in India at Mhow, Bombay, from October 1886 to January 1889. In January 1890 “G” Battery became “M” Battery R.H.A. Sold with copies of relevant medal rolls.
