1 officer and 25 other ranks of the 3rd Rifle Brigade served on the Nile in the Mounted Infantry Camel Regiment, of whom the officer and 22 other ranks fought at Abu Klea.
Charles Shaw was born at Lenton, Nottinghamshire, and enlisted for the Rifle Brigade at Nottingham on 1 October 1879, a skinner by trade, aged 19. He served for one year in Egypt from August 1884, otherwise at home until discharged on 30 September 1891. Sold with copy discharge papers.
