With research concerning a ‘Henry Man’ who in the India List of 1856 is shown as a Captain in the 49th Native Infantry and Superintendent of Convicts and Roads, Singapore. In the 1865 list he is shown as a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Madras Staff Corps and Resident Councillor, Penang.
