The Most Honourable Order of The Bath, G.C.B. (Military) Knight Grand Cross breast star by Rundell Bridge & Rundell, silver with gold and enamel appliqué centre, circa 1820, 90x82mm, the reverse centre inscribed with maker’s name ‘Rundell Bridge & Rundell, Jewellers to their Majesties & The Royal Family, London’, fitted with gold pin for wearing, minor enamel damage to wreath and ‘Ich Dien’ motto, otherwise good very fine and a rare variety £2000-2500

The Prince Regent succeeded as King George IV in 1820 and divorced Queen Caroline in the same year. The inscription on this star therefore dates it to that year.
