Frederick William Collyer was born on 1 June 1887 in the Parish of St. Giles, London. A Porter by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Marines at London on 20 October 1905. During the Great War he served in France and was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals. In 1921 he was awarded the Royal Navy L.S. & G.C. and was awarded a duplicate (above) in 1926. Collyer was discharged from the Royal Marines in 1926 and he enlisted into the Royal Fleet Reserve. He served actively from September 1938 until he died at the R.N. Hospital at Haslar on 26 June 1943. Sold with copied service paper and death certificate.
