Charles Andrew Drake was awarded the Army L.S. & G.C. (Permanent Force) as a Warrant Officer Class 2 (Temporary W.O. Class 1) in the South African Air Force, this published in the Staatskoerant 11 July 1941. He was granted the War Substantive rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 on 1 September 1941.
